Full-Summer Overnight Campers

Changeover 2025

Overnight Campers Staying for Session 1 & 2

CHANGEOVER 2025

For Timberlake, Firefly Song, Saltash Mountain, & Tamarack Farm

Changeover is the time between Session 1 and Session 2 for overnight camps at Farm and Wilderness. The dates for Changeover 2025 are Thursday, July 17th to Sunday, July 20th. During this time most summer staff are taking much-deserved time off and then setting up for Session 2. Campers who are staying for both sessions are cared for by summer leadership staff. Families have the option of taking their camper for all or part of Changeover.

Read below for more information, and use this link to complete the form and tell us what you will be doing

What Changeover is Like

Campers will have mini adventures with the other campers who are staying for Changeover. Adventures sometimes include the other F&W overnight camps and are staffed by a small group of F&W summer leadership staff. These activities are dependent on staffing, weather, availability and more, and these activities tend to be unique to changeover, including some “plugged in” activities. Each summer it looks a little different and activities we’ve had in the past include:

  • Going tubing on a river
  • A day hike
  • Going to see a movie
  • Visiting a nearby farm or adventure park

As counselors are rotating between their time off and preparing for the next session, during changeover campers will not stay in their cabins. Instead they have a big sleepover in one of the main lodges with camp leadership staff.  In the same way all campers give back to the community by doing chores, changeover campers will also help with some tasks to prepare for Session 2 and Arrival Day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there any additional cost?

No, there is no additional cost to families for Changeover

What activities typically happen?

They change every year and include activities that are unique to Changeover.  Activities are dependent on many factors such as weather, staffing availability, and more. Typically the first full day of Changeover is a big adventure and day two tends to be a quieter day.

When can I pick up my child?

You can pick up your camper for all or part of Changeover. If you’d like to pick them up for all of changeover, you can pick up your camper during the regular Session 1 morning pick up, and drop them off during the regular Session 2  afternoon drop off. If you’d like to arrange to spend a part of this time with your camper,  your pickup or drop-off windows for changeover days are at Breakfast between 8 - 9 AM or before Dinner 4:30-5:30. You’ll fill out this form and your Camp Director or Camp Staff will be in touch about specifics.

Is there a visiting day?

We are not offering a full visiting day so summer staff can have some much-needed time off. However, a full-session family is welcome to tour during the Changeover window, please just get in touch with the camp director to make arrangements.

What if my camper is changing from one camp to another?

Your camper will have Changeover with their Session 1 camp. F&W staff will transport them to their Session 2 camp on Sunday, July 20th.

What if my camper wants to go off campus with another family?

Totally fine, we just need to know this will happen and that both you and the other family give permission. Best is to email your camp Director with the other family CC’d to let us know. Please also include admissions in the email

When do I get a camper letter?

Your camper will receive a camper letter after Session 2 that reflects their time in both sessions. A camper letter is a 1-2 page letter you’ll receive describing what the experience was like for your camper from the eyes of their counselors.

Where do campers sleep?

Campers sleep in a central location with a few leadership staff, not in their cabins. This is typically in the following places:

  • Firefly Song: Cozy Lodge
  • Tamarack Farm: Farmhouse
  • Timberlake: Ken’s Lodge
  • SAM campers will join one of the Woodward camps for Changeover

What about meals?

Campers will still have regular meals and snacks, although Changeover meals tend to be part of the adventure as well, with some special foods and meals. We will, as always, ensure to provide for all dietary restrictions & allergies.
