Who We Are Looking For

After 5 years with its current director, W, Timberlake is looking for who's next. Timberlake is in a strong position with high-quality programming, long-time staff, excited campers, and loyal returning families. This 100 camper, 60 staff camp isn't in need of an overhaul - instead, it's in need of a new leader who will build on the successes of the past.

The Timberlake Director is jointly responsible for the success of the camp and its continued growth including all aspects of staff management, camper and parent relations, program development and management, camp risk management, American Camp Association accreditation, budget oversight and adherence to the Farm and Wilderness mission.

A high-quality candidate will be an experienced educator in an experiential, academic, or outdoor setting, with a passion for outdoor education. Further, they will have demonstrated experience in managing staff and campers. The Essential Functions of the next Timberlake Director can be found below.

Provide Program and Education Leadership

Be the face of TL to campers, families, staff, alumni, and the wider camp industry. Continue to deliver on the educational outcomes, mission, and values of TL.

Lead Program Improvement & Innovation

Continue to evolve the program to better serve our campers, families, and staff. Continue to create a culture of reflection, evaluation, and innovation.

Recruit Campers and Engage Families

Attend in-person events, manage the TL Instagram account, talk to parents. Do what it takes to fill the camp and care for our families.

Recruit and Manage Seasonal Staff

Interview, hire, and evaluate 60 staff across kitchen, nursing, leadership, and general counselors. Ensure they are well trained, well rested, and ready to take care of campers.

Support the Overall Mission and Function of Farm & Wilderness

Model the F&W values in your work and participate in the overall mission of FW. We're all responsible for the success of the organization.

Collaborate Across F&W Departments

Be an essential and effective team member, working across departments for the betterment of Timberlake and Farm & Wilderness.
