The F&W team is preparing for another summer of joyful play and outdoor adventure. Save the date to join us at Fair, a decades-long, end of camp tradition. Members from our local community join campers, alumni, and their families to come together for a day of fun. Everyone is invited! We’ve got camper-run rides & games, local food, swimming, and a live-band contra dance. Plus, time to reminisce on the ol’ picnic-blanket.

Over the years, we've hosted thousands of F&W community members for this much loved event. Please plan to join us as an attendee, supporter or both!

Weekend Overview:

FRI. August 7: Alumni Meet Up at Off the Rails (64 Pond Street, Ludlow) - No RSVP required - 5 pm - 8 pm

SAT August 8: Community Leadership Breakfast, 9 am - 11 am, Skyeship Base Lodge

SAT. August 8: FAIR! 11 AM to 5 PM at camp. Detailed schedule below.

SUN. August 9: Coffee & Doughnuts with the Executive Director for Parents and camper families at Pick-Up - F&W Entry Under Tent, 9 am - Noon

Friend of Fair Bundle

All you need!

We encourage folks to purchase a Friend of Fair package! Why? This $200 bundle includes your parking pass ($20 value), 2 t-shirts ($40 value) and 40 tickets ($40 value). It also includes a $100 donation to F&W (incredibly valuable!) to help keep our camps Affordable For All!

When you arrive at Fair, humbly wink at your name on our donor thank you board as you head to the sponsorship line to pick up your t-shirts & tickets (and any other a-la-carte purchases) all packaged in an exclusive F&W branded bag!

Parking

The Skyeship Gondola

Parking is at the Killington Skyeship Gondola at 7428 US-4, Killington, VT 05751. There is no parking on-site at F&W for this event.

Shuttles run regularly between the parking lot and the fair grounds thoughout the event from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Friend of Fair bundles include a parking pass, or you can purchase one a-la-carte! The parking pass helps to cover the fee of renting this space, and all vehicles should have one, purchased ahead of time.

Tickets

$1 = 1 Ticket!

Fair attendees pay for rides, concession food, and camper made items with tickets. Snacky foods and camper made items range from 1-5 tickets, and hartier food options like burritos and burgers range between 5-10 tickets.

The Friend of Fair package comes with tickets, and tickets can be purchased ahead of time, a-la-carte. Tickets can also be purchased on site, the day of the event with cash or card (cash preferred), from 11am to 3pm at the Ticket Booth.

Merch!

The exception to ticket currency is our F&W merch, purchased at our welcome tent, using cash, check, or card.

Fill your closet with F&W branded hats & hoodies, and of course this year's limited edition Fair t-shirt! Did we mention that TWO shirts are part of the Friend of Fair bundle? As you may have guessed, you can also buy these a-la-carte.

All overnight campers enrolled in camp during Fair recieve a Fair t-shirt.

What to Bring

Do's & Don'ts

DO bring layers! The temperature changes quickly when the sun goes down.

DO bring your friends and family!

DO bring a swimsuit and towel if you plan to swim!

DO bring a refillable water bottle and a picnic if you wish! Concessions will include some gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options, as well as gluten-full and meaty options.

DO carpool! The parking lot has limited space.

DON'T bring dogs (or other pets/animals). We love your furry friend, and they must sit this event out. Our landscape and farm animals thank you!

DON'T bring alcohol, cigarettes, or any nicotine devices. We are a substance-free campus and these items are prohibited on site.

What's Happening!

For Families With Kids at Camp

Fair is a fun culminating event and a chance for you to visit with your camper, see what they've been up to, and get a taste of life at Farm & Wilderness. While attending Fair is optional, we strongly encourage you to come if you are able! Here are a few key things to keep in mind:

Fair is like a visiting day with your camper held at our Fairgrounds rather than at the camps. They will show you around, point out farm or fire-building skill demonstrations, and introduce you to friends and counselors. You’ll have a chance to swim in the same lake they do, join in a singalong of camp songs, and contra-dance together to a string band.

Campers do not depart camp with their families during or after Fair. They return to camp for one more special evening with their cabin group. This final night is an emotional and meaningful capstone to their session. Campers then return home with their families the following morning.

Be prepared that your child may be excited to see you but also tired from the eventful day. They may be clingy or seem distracted. This is all normal as they navigate the many emotions of wrapping up their time at camp while being reunited with family.

You are welcome to bring a picnic meal or snacks, and encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle. There will also be food available for purchase, with more specific menu information closer to the actual day of the event.

There is no parking on camp property for Fair. Shuttles will run throughout the day to transport visitors to and from auxiliary parking lots. Please be patient as there may be lines and wait times, especially during peak hours. Shuttles begin over an hour before Fair begins so be prepared to wait if you get there early. We appreciate your understanding!
There is no admission fee for Fair. We do charge for parking to cover the cost of renting auxiliary parking.

How much does stuff cost?

At the F&W Fair attendees pay for rides, concession snacks and camper made items with tickets. Tickets are $1 each and can be purchased until 3pm at the Ticket Booth. Rides, Concession Snacks and Camper Made Items range from 1-5 tickets. Heartier food options like burritos, empanadas, burgers range between 5 -10 tickets

Important Details About Fair

Parking, Campers, & More!

Fair happens on Farm & Wilderness camp property from 11am - 5pm.

Parking is located at the Killington Skyeship Gondola Parking Lot.
All Fair attendees should have a Parking Pass. Passes are $20 per car and must be purchased in advance (including the day of fair!), on-line. Note: Sponsorship and Friend of Fair packages include Parking Passes. We encourage you to get one of these :-)

After you park at Killington Skyeship Gondola Parking Lot, board our free shuttle directly to/from the F&W grounds (shuttles run all day from 11am-5pm). The shuttle will drop you off at the Merch Tent & Ticket Booth - the place to pick up any pre-ordered gear and Friend of Fair or Sponsorship packages.
Note: We sell a-la-carte ride/concession/meal tickets and Fair/F&W merch from 11am- 3pm

For Families with Kids at Camp:

Overnight campers attend Fair and arrive via the all-camp Fair Parade around 1 pm.

Campers spend time with family and friends from 1:40-4:00pm. Families who are attending Fair are expected to check in with our staff to confirm their assuming responsibility for their child/ren during this time. Also, campers have a special role in making Fair run and have a few responsibilities during the day, such as running rides, group songs - which you can tag along and watch.

At 4:00pm, campers check in with Camp staff for a headcount. At this time families are encouraged to make their way to the Soccer Field for the Contra Dance.

When Fair ends, campers say goodbye to families and return to their camps for their special closing ceremonies. Parents head to the shuttles and back their cars at Killington Skyeship Lot.

BARN DAY CAMPERS: Day camp kids and their families are invited and very welcome to join Fair activities too. Please purchase Parking Passes online.

Sunday is camper pick up!
Timeslots will be shared with parents via an email from the F&W Admissions team in August, before Fair Weekend. As you arrive, we’ll have coffee & doughnuts to greet you.

Note: Fair is a pet-free event. No dogs or other animals are permitted on the shuttles or camp property - with the specific exception of ADA Compliant Service Animals
